Mission Completed…

We have completed our second surgical mission to Guatemala and it was a wonderful success! Our twenty member team was able to perform 34 operations, fill 170 teeth and extract 80 teeth that were not salvageable. MOA would like to thank the Guatemalan Minister of Health, the Director of the Escuintla Hospital Nacionale and all the wonderful operating room staff at the hospital. Their long hours of unreimbursed overtime were greatly appreciated and instrumental in allowing us to provide the care so desperately needed.

The team was comprised of 4 OB-GYN’s, 1 general Surgeon, 1 plastic surgeon, 1 orthopedist, 2 dentists, 1 orthopedic physician’s assistant, 3 OR surgical techs, 1 RN, 1 medical assistant and 5 additional support personnel. Many thanks to a great team! Despite sometimes adverse working conditions and long hours, the team gave 110% and not once did they complain. You guys are the best!!
