MOA President
Dr. Atwell is in private practice in Cartersville, GA, having completed his Orthopedic Residency at the Medical College of Georgia and Sports Medicine fellowship in Long Beach, CA.

Prior to founding Medical Outreach of America, he served as a board member and Chairman for Flying Doctors of America and completed several missions with them as a team leader. He felt that more could be accomplished by education and support of organizations already working in impoverished areas than by trying to do it alone, to create something that would last even after our teams returned home. By founding MOA on these premises, the creation of these bridges has already begun.

Dr. Atwell was also the first recipient of the William Frist Humanitarian Award for Cartersville Medical Center in 2008, and he continues to impress us daily with his energy and drive to help those most in need.
