Warm Springs Medical Center Donation

Troy Weaver and I recently made a trip to the Warm Springs Medical Center, Warm Springs, GA to load a trailer full of supplies donated by the Medical Center. Some of the supplies donated to MOA include an electrically operated OR table, birthing bed, surgical scrub sink, pneumatic tourniquet, electrocautery unit and 2 anesthesia machines. As President of MOA, I would like to personally acknowledge Ms. Karen Daniel, CEO and Milo Varnadoe, IT Department Director for their kind attention and gracious donation! This will greatly improve our ability to elevate the quality of care for our patients in Guatemala! Many Thanks to the fine staff at WSMC!!

Medical Imaging Solutions Donates Fluoroscopy Unit

Medical Outreach of America would like to thank Medical Imaging Solutions for their very gracious and generous donation of a newly refurbished fluoroscopy unit (“C-Arm)!  Prior to the donation, all surgeries at the National Hospital of Amatitlan were done without the aid of any imaging modalities and the adequacy of a closed reduction or the appropriate placement of hardware could not be assessed until after the patient was recovered and returned to the ward.  The hospital possessed no portable radiographic equipment of any sort, which sometimes meant that the patient had to be returned to the operating room to revise hardware or to repeat a closed reduction.  This wonderful donation will greatly improve patient care and decrease the need for repeat procedures as well as allowing more expedient and less invasive procedures.  MOA extends its most sincere thanks and gratitude to MIS for this most magnanimous gesture!

Mr. Arnold Bates has been an avid supporter of MOA for many years and has donated several pieces of radiological and advanced diagnostic imaging equipment to MOA to be used in impoverished areas of great need.  In 2012, he donated and then installed a CT scanner to be used to provide imaging services to the poor in Guatemala City.  In 2014, MIS donated a Sonosite Ultrasound unit to be used in Amatitlan.  MOA deeply appreciates the dedication and commitment that Arnold and MIS has demonstrated in assisting the poor in improving their access to quality medical imaging and healthcare.   Countless patients and families will be affected by this wonderful gift!  Many, many thanks to Arnold and MIS!!!
